Sony is yet another fine example of a Talisman Super-Soaker Swamphound. She is co-owned by and lives with Alison Brendel, DVM, at Tangaloor Silkens in the desert area of Washington state.

Despite living in the desert, she still manages to find enough water to show us that she is a true swamphound, happily spending her time submerged in the water buckets, dancing through the sprinklers, snorkeling in kiddie wading pools Alison has out , and diving into any puddles of water accumulated in the very infrequent rains.

While being a predominantly white dog, in her pursuit of a desert-modified aquatic lifestyle, Sony is often brown and covered in enough mud to turn her into a desert-brown dog. Since she is Alison's only swamphound, she is trying to make up for that deficit by making sure that when she is soaked, she also gets all of the other dogs wet and muddy as well. After all, it’s only polite to share the wealth.

Sony did manage to dry off at one point for a single show outing in 05, and at the age of 9 months, under judge Dennis Colbath at the Western Regional Specialty Show in Layfayette Ca, over a very large entry of 50+ Silken Windhounds, she took Best Puppy in Show, Winners Bitch, and went all the way to Best in Show! She was handled earlier on in the show by Alison and handled through to her BIS win by Kent Jones of Kumbaya Silken Windhounds.

Alison and I are hoping Sony doesn’t find a way to grow gills, and that she continues to shine in the show ring. She seems to have also set about teaching herself tricks , we think in the hopes that she will find new ways to convince Alison that she needs to install a proper pond at the house.

Sony has also done well at obedience, and has gotten her Canine Good Citizen title! Sadly, also a sport she can't swim or snorkle her way to achievment in.

In 2007, Sony became a Mom for the first time to a stunning little singleton puppy named LEONIDAS!

We're looking forward to seeing her little red and white boy grow up!
